City Church Connections

Connections is Anchorage City Church's plan for connecting people into fellowship and developing believers into followers of Jesus.  It is designed to be intentional, relational and instructional to produce spiritually mature believers in touch with God, with each other and those who are not yet part of the family of Christian faith.

These are the components of Connections.  Follow links below to additional general information information.

Romans 10:9
That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

This is our plan to bring people to a decision for Christ, and into fellowship with His Church. This includes the altar ministry all the way to a consistent follow-up system, so we can continue to stand alongside those who have made this most important of life’s decisions.  More >>

Romans 6:4
Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.

We believe that after someone gives their life to the Lord that they should be baptized. We believe that this is a serious event and we want everyone to understand what it means. We have a baptism class several times during the year and the following Sunday we will have a baptismal service.

Acts 5:14
And all the more believers in the Lord, multitudes of men and women, were constantly added to their number.

This is a 3-week class that covers the past, present and future of City Church; while also covering the past, present and future that is available for the “New Addition” here at City Church; offered on Sunday mornings quarterly. More >>

Luke 6:47-48
Everyone who comes to Me and hears My words and acts on them….he is like a man building a house who dug deep and laid a foundation on the rock.

“Foundations” is just that, laying the foundation of our Christian walk. The depth and strength of the foundation we lay will determine the strength of the building above in the storms to come. This will be a nine week class on Sunday morning quarterly.  More >>

Ephesians 2:10
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

Design is a class that we will offer at least twice a year that will help people find out what God made them for. We spend time discussing the individual’s gifts and talents, along with a personality test; and we also discuss hearing the voice of God and discerning the direction He has for you individually.

Joshua 24:15
If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve … but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

We believe the family is the strength of our church and society. It is our desire that families grow stronger together. We encourage people to participate in marriage classes and seminars, or to join the singles ministry as it become available.

Psalms 1:3
He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers.

Positive change in human lives is possible through the transforming power found in following Jesus. This weekend of transformational ministry will lead you through the beginning of the process, while offering long term opportunities for positive change and growth in your soul.

Acts 2:42-46
They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. … Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread form house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart.

Small groups are for fellowship and for developing spiritual maturity. It is in small groups that we exercise our spiritual gifts and we share the deep places in our lives. Some of our closest relationships may occur in the context of these groups.

Mark 10:42-45
…but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant; and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be slave of all.

One of the keys to understanding the way Jesus came and served is to be a servant. It is a pillar in our Christian walk that cannot be ignored ….. and there is a joy to serving together with other believers that cannot be understood until it is experienced! We will help believers find appropriate places of service.

2 Timothy 2:2
The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

We want to develop people who lead with a servant’s heart, by reinforcing the authority given to them to build-up other believers. This will be something offered in the spring and fall as a semester of training.

NOTE: The Foundations Bible Baseline class or its equivalent is a prerequisite to participation in the Leadership Development classes.
