Miracles of Jesus

then goes on to talk about more recent miracles.
Supernatural events in his own life, and that of
others. Some of these were financial, and some were
physical, but all show the touch of a supernatural
God effecting change in our lives. The message leads
into a time of praying for those of us that need a
miracle.
June 7, 2009 - 12 noon - Aaron Gray & Jim Strutz
- The Holy Trinity

presentation.

for hope in Christ.
April 12, 2009 - 10 am - Richard Irwin -
Hope of the Resurrection
Richard Irwin
discusses the Christian's cause for hope, and
encourages us all to hope. Biblical hope is far more
than a wish. It is a confidence in knowing that God
will bring about his purposes around us and within
us.
April 5, 2009 - 12 noon - Richard Irwin -
Building the Kingdom
Richard Irwin, in
what was originally slated to be a state of the
church address, talks instead about the state of
God's kingdom, and His destiny for it. God is not
about building one congregation, but about
developing his entire kingdom. We are his
ambassadors, and should have the same goals as he.
Pastor Richard
then elaborates on some specifics for City Church in
2009. You can
download the sermon notes here in PDF format.
March 29, 2009 - 12 noon - Dr. Jim Strutz -
Seeing Jesus
Dr. Jim Strutz
talks about seeing Jesus with the eyes of the heart,
and being transformed by the reflection. Like Job,
we think we understand God because we have heard
about him, but when we really do see him for what he
is, we are changed forever.
March 22, 2009 - 12 noon - Randy Farris - Life
with a Kingdom Mindset
Randy Farris talks
about Facing Life with a Kingdom Mindset. He uses
Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter
of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace
and joy in the Holy Spirit. as his primary focal
point, and shows how to develop this mindset and
Biblical examples of others who did.
March 15, 2009 - 10 am - Richard Irwin - Everyone
Needs Encouragement
Richard Irwin
looks at several Bible stories and Bible characters
that demonstrate how God used people to bring
encouragement when it was needed. The encouragement
from Richard is that we should be encouraging to
others.
March 8, 2009 - 10 am - Richard Irwin - Valuing
the Church
Richard Irwin
presents an overview of Paul's letter to the
Ephesians, and points out how God has called our a
people for himself, for his purposes, and for his
glory. It is the church, the called out ones, as
frail and failure prone as we are, that God has
prepared, equipped and empowered to present the good
news of Jesus Christ, and represent God to the
world. It is the church that God values, and it is
into the church that he has hidden his most valuable
assets.
March 1, 2009 - 10 am - Dr Jim Strutz -
Prosperity of the Patriarchs
Jim Strutz shows
how God brought about prosperity for Abraham, Isaac,
Jacob, and Joseph in times of famine and economic
conflict. God is not limited by our present economic
struggle, and is completely capable of doing more
than just getting us through these difficult times.
His plan is that you bloom in the driest desert. But
in all of the prosperity that he brings, never
forget that the present "land of milk and honey" is
not our home. We are all foreigners on this journey
through life, so be sure to smell the roses, but be
quick to pass them on to others too.
February 22, 2009 - 10 am - Richard Irwin -
Sharing Your Faith
Richard Irwin
continues with his series on the Jesus Centered
Gospel, and this time encourages us to share our
faith and Christian experience with others. So many
time we look at people and think that they really
would not be interested in knowing Jesus, but the
truth is that very often people only put up a facade
of protection, and they are waiting for someone to
ask them to respond to Christ. Usually it is the
small risk of the possibility of rejection that
holds us back from presenting the love of God that
will give them a new life.
February 15, 2009 - 10 am - Barry Hagerty -
Leaving the Land of Not Enough
Barry Hagerty gets
us to contemplate moving our affections away from
"the Land of Not Enough," and onto the place where
God provides more than enough.
February 8, 2009 - 10 am - Richard & Richard
Irwin - Jesus Centered Gospel
Richard & Richard
Irwin share the stage to reveal a view of Jesus
Christ who transcended all boundaries, and who
continues to minister to us in love and grace. The
proclamation of this same Jesus is our cause. A
cause for which we are compelled to speak. Come join
the cause!
February 1, 2009 - 12 am - Aaron Gray -
Generosity
Aaron Gray
discusses blessings, wealth, poverty and generosity.
Contrary to some opinions, and in spite of our
circumstances, God wants us all to be rich in good
deeds and generosity -- rich and poor alike. In
love, God supplies more than enough, and our bounty
is intended for the supply of others in need --
another demonstration of his love.
January 25, 2009 - 10 am - Roger Schoeniger -
Kingdom Economics
Roger Schoeniger
deals with the sometimes sticky subject of
Christians and their wealth. This isn't about
giving, but about changing our priorities, altering
our perspectives, and adjusting our attitudes
towards the things we have. Setting out minds on
higher things in the face of economic recession.
January 18, 2009 - 12 pm - Dr Kim Patterson -
Spiritual Alignment
Dr. Kim Patterson
brings us a study on Prayer, Fasting and Spiritual
Alignment. He discusses how the civil rights
movement of the last century was largely empowered
by prayer and fasting, and how that brought about a
realignment in our society. In similar ways today,
prayer and fasting brings spiritual alignment to our
own lives. He goes on to show how fasting empowers
us to serve God and serve others too.
January 11, 2009 - 10 am - Brian Gray - Fathers
and Fathering
Brian Gray shares
his heart, and the Father's heart as well in a
discussion on fulfilling the role of a parent to
young people in need of help.
January 4, 2009 - 10 am - Richard Irwin - Prepare
to Change
Richard Irwin
continues with his exhortation to prepare now for
the changes that lie ahead. He talks about being
proactive about preparations, and not allowing
ourselves to be complacent. Part of the preparation
now is making good financial decisions to stay out
of debt, and good spiritual decisions to secure your
eternal future. We need to remember that God is in
charge, so while there is no need to fear, there is
cause to adjust now for the changes coming in the
near future.
