Anchorage City Church Ministries

Children's Ministry

Anchorage City Church has an exciting ministry to and with the children of our congregation. We have classes beginning with 2 & 3 year olds. There is a Kids Church program for ages 4 through the fourth grade, and a 5th & 6th grade class as well. The 2 & 3 year olds begin their class at the same time as the church service starts and the rest of them begin right after the offering is taken.

For children up to 2 years old, we also have a nursery that is staffed by responsible childcare providers. We have excellent, committed teachers and assistants for each of these age groups and the students really enjoy the meetings while they learn lessons that will guide them throughout their lives. We do everything we can to make sure that our children's programs are completely safe for your children, while providing an atmosphere that they can enjoy. So bring your kids to church, and let us help you train them for God’s purposes.

Lindy Irwin is the director of ACC's Children's Ministries. For further information contact the church office.  TOP

Christian Life School of Ministry

Christian Life School of Ministry (CLST) is a school for the Body of Christ! This ministry’s primary commitment is to serve the local church and leadership by enabling them to educate and prepare Christians for Kingdom service. If you are interested in studying the Word of God to earn anything from an associates degree to a D.Min. or just for your own enrichment, CLST offers unique scheduling to allow you to accomplish this. If you are working full-time, you can still receive quality education through CLST.

How is this done? We offer weekday and weekend courses. Each course is only one month in duration. You can take as few or as many courses as your time permits. The weekend courses are put on one weekend per month. You prepare on your own before the start of the classes and after the training weekend is done you take the test home with you, turning it in when its complete. It’s as simple as that.

Jim Strutz is the dean of of our local CLST learning center. You can call him at the church office for more information. TOP

Men's Ministry

Our mission is to build life-giving relationships that will encourage and strengthen men in their journey to know and walk with God. We recognize that God is able and willing to do immeasurably more in our lives than we can ask or imagine. Our expectation is that whenever we get together with a focus on God, God will encourage, help and enlighten us. Our goals include sharing and drawing from each other’s gifts and life experiences. A variety of activities are available such as: Weekend retreats, Men's Night Out, small focus groups, prayer groups, service and ministry activities, and overnighters for men to pray, fast, share, and worship together.

In addition, there is a men's prayer breakfast every Wednesday morning at 6 a.m. ACC's Men's Ministries are directed by Jim Lamson. Call the church office for more information. TOP

Women's Ministry

ACC Women’s Ministry is a place where women are equipped for service and nurtured through mentoring, teaching, and community outreach. We look forward to gathering for times of fun, fellowship, learning, and giving of ourselves to help others in need.

Meetings are held monthly on the last Friday of the month, with special events scheduled frequently. Remember, we as women have great potential for service in a variety of ways. Come with us and see what God can do in and through you.

ACC's Women's Ministries are directed by Janice Ridgeway. For more information call the church offices. TOP

Welcome Team Ministry

We at Anchorage City Church desire to be good hosts to the Holy Spirit and to all who come to ACC.  With that as a focus during our services, we have small teams of people (called Welcome Teams) who are practicing the art of being gracious and inviting to whomever enters our building.  The Welcome Teams are a vital ministry to the church, aiming to leave a positive impact with everyone who walks though the doors of the church.  This ministry puts forth the church's personality and attitude, important as first time visitors often evaluate a church by their first impressions.  Team members are encouraged to show caring and friendliness as they shake a hand, touch a shoulder or give a warm hug.

Team members may be found assisting people across a slippery parking lot, cheerfully greeting folks as they enter, handing out announcements, taking the offering, helping people find seating, serving communion, and assisting with coffee and refreshments in the church foyer.  Each team usually serves for one service every four or five weeks and is an excellent way for folks to meet new people and have fun ministering together.  For more information on how you can be involved, please call the church office. Motorcycle Riding

Anchorage City Church Ministries

Motorcycle Riding

Anchorage City Church has been involved in outreach to the motorcycle community for a number of years and joined with other motorcycle organizations to initiate the annual Bike Blessing in 2004.  The event takes place the 1st Sat in May and has attracted as many as 850 motorcycles to our parking lot.  It is a great way to bridge the gap between the various biker clubs and the church community.

We also began twice-monthly prayer rides to ride and pray for our city a few years ago.  This year we have partnered with Black Sheep Harley-Davidsons For Christ, as our motorcycle outreach arm to reach the biker community.  This was an easy fit as many members (including the chapter leadership) are and have been actively involved in ACC.  Their mission statement: “to introduce Jesus Christ to the world of motorcycle riders, for the purpose of making more and better disciples through the ministry of the local church” is our desire as well.

Our Tuesday evening rides are open to Christian and non-Christian riders of all makes of bikes, whether ridden by males or females, young or old.  Our ride focus is prayer & unity as we enjoy each other’s company, the beauty our Lord has created for us and of course---food & fellowship.

Ride Dates: May 6, 13, 20, 27                   Jun 3,10,17,24             Jul 1, 8, 15, 22, 29

                  Aug 5, 12, 19, 26                   Sep 2, 9, 16, 23, 30      Oct (TBD)

We meet in the parking lot of Anchorage City Church located at 100th and Minnesota at 6:30 PM for the Tuesday rides. Rides will be cancelled only if it's pouring down rain. Our rides are usually 2 - 3 hours or more depending on which way the wind is blowing. Please contact the church office (344-2141) if you would like more information or to be contacted.
