Anchorage City Church Ministries
Children's Ministry
God has a plan for our kids.
He has uniquely created every child to know Him and His
love, and to fulfill His purpose in his or her lives. At
Anchorage City Church, we are excited to provide our
children with opportunities to grow in faith and the
knowledge of their Best Friend, Jesus. We offer a
full Sunday School program for kids during both Sunday
services.
Pre-School:
We provide a clean, safe environment for our 3-5 year
olds. These foundational classes, using Gospel Light
curriculum, emphasize God’s love, His creation and
Jesus’ desire to be their Friend forever.

and have been given the power to G.O. into their world
and live for Jesus as lights to those around them. We

these classes.

God is Awesome!
SCRIPTURE MEMORY PROGRAM
The WOW! scripture-memory program is designed to give
children the opportunity to memorize age-appropriate
Bible verses telling of God’s love, His glory, and His
mighty acts. Participants earn prizes, awards and
recognition for their hard work.
MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES
Our kids can be involved with Junior Ushers, GO! Kids
Leadership Team, seasonal performances, outreach
activities and service projects.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Throughout the year, we host a variety of fun, highly-anticipated
events. These include the Boys’ and Girls’
Overnighters, Missionary Month, Vacation Bible School,
Family Fun Days, and the Mother- Daughter Tea.
We also have classes beginning with 2 & 3 year olds.
These youngsters begin their class at the same time
as the church service starts and the older kids begin
right after the offering is taken.
For children up to 2 years old, we also have a nursery
that is staffed by responsible childcare providers. We
have excellent, committed teachers and assistants for
each of these age groups and the students really enjoy
the meetings while they learn lessons that will guide
them throughout their lives. We do everything we can to
make sure that our children's programs are completely
safe for your children, while providing an atmosphere
that they can enjoy. So bring your kids to church, and
let us help you train them for God’s purposes.
We also have a Sunday morning class for Jr. High
students held during the sermon time of the first Sunday
Service.

Alpha Ministry
Alpha is a worldwide phenomenon found in over 160
countries in
tens of thousands
of
churches of all denominations. More than 13 million
people have taken this opportunity to explore the
meaning of life. Maybe it’s your turn now? Learn
more about ALPHA at Anchorage City Church.
Men's Ministry
Our mission is to build life-giving relationships that
will encourage and strengthen men in their journey to
know and walk with God. We recognize that God is able
and willing to do immeasurably more in our lives than we
can ask or imagine. Our expectation is that whenever we
get together with a focus on God, God will encourage,
help and enlighten us. Our goals include sharing and
drawing from each other’s gifts and life experiences. A
variety of activities are available such as: Weekend
retreats, Men's Night Out, small focus groups, prayer
groups, service and ministry activities, and
overnighters for men to pray, fast, share, and worship
together.
In addition, there is a men's prayer breakfast every
Wednesday morning at 6 a.m. ACC's Men's Ministries are
directed by Jim Lamson. Call the church office for more
information.

Welcome Team Ministry
We at Anchorage City Church desire to be good hosts to
the Holy Spirit and to all who come to ACC. With
that as a focus during our services, we have small teams
of people (called Welcome Teams) who are practicing the
art of being gracious and inviting to whomever enters
our building. The Welcome Teams are a vital
ministry to the church, aiming to leave a positive
impact with everyone who walks though the doors of the
church. This ministry puts forth the church's
personality and attitude, important as first time
visitors often evaluate a church by their first
impressions. Team members are encouraged to show
caring and friendliness as they shake a hand, touch a
shoulder or give a warm hug.
Team members may be found assisting people across a
slippery parking lot, cheerfully greeting folks as they
enter, handing out announcements, taking the offering,
helping people find seating, serving communion, and
assisting with coffee and refreshments in the church
foyer. Each team usually serves for one service
every four or five weeks and is an excellent way for
folks to meet new people and have fun ministering
together. For more information on how you can be
involved, please call the church office.

Motorcycle Riding

Anchorage City Church has been involved in outreach
to the motorcycle community for a number of years and
joined with other motorcycle organizations to initiate
the annual Bike Blessing in 2004. The event takes place
the 1st Sat in May and attracted over 1,000 motorcycles
to the park strip on 2 May this year. It is a great way
to bridge the gap between the various biker clubs and
the church community. We had beautiful weather and many
riders were prayed for during the event.
This past year we partnered with Black Sheep
Harley-Davidsons For Christ, as our motorcycle outreach
arm to reach the biker community. This was an easy fit
as many members (including the chapter leadership) are
and have been actively involved in ACC. Their mission
statement: to introduce Jesus Christ to the world of
motorcycle riders, for the purpose of making more and
better disciples through the ministry of the local
church is our desire as well.
ACC & Black Sheep sponsor a twice-monthly evening ride
for all who show up. That means no mater the make, model
or style of motorcycle you ride, you are welcome to join
us at the church parking lot at 6:30 PM for an evening
ride. We usually go 30-50 miles and stop for something
to eat. It is a great opportunity to meet other
like-minded riders and enjoy good food, fellowship and
this beautiful country we live in. We ride ever other
Tuesday beginning 12 May. For additional information
call Jon & Glenda Pokrandt (333-8903), Mike & Barb
Rawalt (344-1946) or Mike at the church office at
344-2141 Ext 14. TOP
