You will
probably first notice singing starting right away.
Many people like to sing standing, but you should
sit or stand as you are comfortable.
Sometimes you'll hear a prayer in another language.
That is to remind us that the whole earth is
our mission. We also often pray for the other
church fellowships of our city. You may see
some raise their hands during the worship.
Thursday
evening services are geared towards
younger adults, so the music is a little louder
and more intense. The meeting is generally conducted
in a less formal manner as well. You'll find some older heads in the mix as well, so it's not
entirely youth driven, but they are the focus.
The Lord continues to speak to
His church through His written Word, through dreams
and visions, and through individuals with the gift
of prophecy. Occasionally a prophet will come to the front of the auditorium
to bring a prophecy or exhortation.

Before the preaching, we normally make a little time
for announcements. There is LOTS going on at
City Church. You can also find good up to date
information on this website in the
news
section and in the
calendar section.
The Church has collected
tithes and offerings since the beginning, and we do this at the same
time as the announcements are made. Visitors
are welcome to join us in this, but there is never
any pressure to do so.
Giving is
more important for us as individuals than it is for
the Church, so we suggest asking the Holy Spirit
what you should give.
We teach tithing (the consistent giving of 10% of
one's income) as a regular spiritual discipline, and
we teach offering (giving above and beyond the tithe
as the Holy Spirit moves individuals to do so).
During most of our meetings Pastor Richard
or one of the other pastors preaches or teaches
biblically based messages. You can
listen to recent
sermons on this website or even download them as
podcasts from
iTunes.
At the end of the meetings, we nearly always make
space for those who need prayer for
sickness or other issues in life. At many of
our meetings, there will be those that come forward
to receive Christ
-- and we invite you to do the same if you have not
already.
We are located at
1301 West 100th Avenue, Anchorage, Alaska. You can
see the church building from Minnesota Drive.
Traveling southbound on Minnesota, exit right for
100th Ave, just south
of the Dimond Boulevard overpass.
